Natural DIY Deodorant Cream

Ingredients

¼ cup organic coconut oil (antimicrobial base)

¼ cup arrowroot powder (absorbs moisture)

2 tablespoons magnesium hydroxide powder (odor control without aluminum)

1 tablespoon bentonite clay or kaolin clay (absorbs toxins and moisture)

1 tablespoon beeswax pellets (optional, for a firmer deodorant stick)

1 teaspoon vitamin E oil

10 drops tea tree essential oil

10 drops lavender essential oil

8 drops steam-distilled lemon or bergamot essential oil (optional)

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Add the 1/4 cup coconut oil and 1 tbsp beeswax pellets to a small saucepan or double boiler over low heat. Stir gently until completely melted.
  2. Remove the pan from the heat and slowly whisk in the 1/4 cup arrowroot powder, 2 tbsp magnesium hydroxide powder, and 1 tbsp bentonite (or kaolin) clay until the mixture is silky smooth with no lumps.
  3. Allow the mixture to cool for about one minute so it is warm—not hot—then stir in the 1 tsp vitamin E oil along with the 10 drops tea tree, 10 drops of lavender, and optional 8 drops of citrus essential oils.
  4. Pour the finished mixture into a clean glass jar or an empty deodorant stick container.
  5. Allow it to cool completely at room temperature or refrigerate for 20–30 minutes until fully solidified.
  6. To use, apply approximately a pea-sized amount to each underarm.
