Chocolate Covered Nuts

A perfectly healthy holiday treat that fits right in with the season. These toasted treats are sugar-free and a great source of healthy fats, antioxidants and protein–not that your lucky Christmas recipients will be thinking about that as they enjoy the great flavors!

Ingredients:

  • 4 oz butter (or coconut oil)
  • 3 cups of nuts (walnuts/pecans)
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/8 tsp sea salt
  • 1-1/2 tsp stevia or monk fruit
  • 1/2 cup almond butter

Directions:

In a saucepan, melt butter or coconut oil over low heat. Remove from heat. Add cocoa, stevia or monk fruit, almond butter and salt. Mix well.

Add nuts (walnuts/pecans). Mix to cover nuts. Spread onto parchment paper and refrigerate until solid. Keep refrigerated.
